A Civil War Is Coming-But Not the Kind You Think

The word civil holds two very different meanings. The first speaks of citizenship; of belonging to a nation, a people, a body. The second speaks of courtesy; of being respectful, patient, and peaceable even in disagreement.

We are living in a time when both meanings are under threat.

There’s a civil war looming on the horizon. A war among citizens, yes. But also, a war over civility itself. It's not just red versus blue or right versus left. It’s deeper than politics, deeper than ideologies. It’s a war for the soul of our people! A war for our minds, our motives, and our future.

And I feel it in my bones.

How I Was Swept into the Kingdom

Twenty-nine years ago, while curiously reading the Bible, I met a King.

I wasn’t searching for a revolution. I was just curious, looking for answers, trying to be a “good girl.” I had spent years trying to do the right thing, living according to my conscious, striving to be righteous as I witnessed a world filled with lying and injustice. But as I read John 3:20, something happened:

"Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed."

I heard a voice, clear and undeniable:
“Nina, that is you.”

He was right. I wanted the light, but I feared it. I feared what it would reveal. But in that moment, I said yes. “Yes, that is me.” And when I came into agreement with the truth, everything changed.

I was transferred, rescued, from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son (Colossians 1:13). I became a citizen of Heaven. A daughter of the King of the Universe. A part of something greater than myself.

And I have spent nearly three decades learning His voice, His ways, and His heart.

Why I’m Writing Now

Today, I write with urgency because I hear the rumblings of war.

Not just in the headlines or on the lips of political commentators; but in the spirit. I listen to the voices of the prophets, and many are declaring: "This is a season of war."

But I say, "not the kind that spills blood".

We need a civil war! A war among citizens who refuse to be divided, and a war that fights for true civility rooted in truth and love. A war that’s not waged with guns or rage, but with spiritual weapons that “have divine power to demolish strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).

We are being called to rise.

To name the strongholds that are keeping us bound. To break patterns of fear, division, pride, and passivity. To reclaim the high ground of moral courage and compassion.

It's Time to Take Back What the Enemy Is Stealing

If we are going to preserve a future for our children and grandchildren, we cannot remain passive. We are not just citizens of a country; we are the Bride of Christ, called to co-reign with Him on the Earth.

And our King is returning for a radiant bride; not one seduced by the systems of this world.

The enemy can only work through willing vessels. He needs hands, mouths, and motives. But so does our God. He desires that none should perish and He’s waiting for His people to step fully into their Kingdom assignments.

Now is the time to wake up.

To take back our voices, our vision, our virtue.
To say no to fear, and yes to the refining light of God.
To allow Him to expose what’s been hidden; so that He can heal, restore, and empower us.

Yes, exposure may hurt for a moment. But His healing balm brings everlasting joy.
