The Gates of Glory: Sevenfold Depth in the Chakras

Psalm 24:7-10 declares, “Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in.” This is more than poetic imagery—it is a call for divine presence to enter the deepest layers of our being. In My Body, God’s Temple, we have explored the chakras as energy portals flowing from root to crown. But each chakra is not only a gateway of light; it is a sacred threshold reserved for the King of Glory.
At the deepest point of every energy center lies mercy—the essence of God’s transformative presence. When we invite the King of Glory, His Light flows through every layer of our soul, dispelling darkness and bringing healing, clarity, and alignment.
A word of caution: these gates are intended for the King of Glory alone. Through our thoughts, choices, and actions, we can unintentionally allow other forces into our inner temple. Grounding ourselves in Christ ensures that only His Light illuminates our being.
As Peter reminds us, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9-10). Each chakra, each sevenfold gate, is part of that calling. God has marked our temple—body, mind, soul, and spirit—as His dwelling place. When we invite the King of Glory in, we step into our identity as His royal priesthood, living as a light in the world, with every layer of our being aligned to declare His praises.
Chakras are often understood broadly—root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, crown—but there is a deeper architecture within each. Seven layers within every chakra represent sacred gates through which God’s mercy and glory can enter.
Meditation and prayer become acts of stewardship, not just relaxation. Each layer is a threshold to be opened only to the King of Glory:
“Lift up your head, O [chakra gate], that the King of Glory may come in.”
Seven is profoundly symbolic in Scripture: seven days of creation, seven spirits before the throne, sevenfold wisdom and mercy. Seeing each chakra as a sevenfold gateway rooted in mercy aligns our temple—body, mind, emotions, and spirit—with God’s divine order. The King of Glory permeates every layer, and darkness cannot coexist with His presence.
Practical Reflection
Meditate on Each Gate: Ground yourself in Christ. Imagine His mercy at the root of each chakra, opening the seven gates to His Light alone.
Prayerful Invitation: Speak Psalm 24 over each layer, intentionally inviting only the King of Glory.
Guard the Gates: Reflect on areas of life where other entities, habits, or thought patterns may have been granted access. Surrender them to Christ’s authority.
Integration: Allow His presence to transform every layer—body, mind, emotions, and spirit—so your temple becomes a sanctuary reserved for Him.
