As We Near the End of 2025: What the Last Five Years Have Taught Me About the Sevenfold Spirit of God

As we come to the close of 2025, I’ve been reflecting on the last half-decade—on what God has been doing in the earth, in the Church, and deeply within my own life. It feels important to share a story I haven’t talked about often, but it has framed everything I’ve learned since 2020.
When 2020 Began With Bold Prophecies… and a Quiet Warning
At the beginning of 2020, many prophetic voices were declaring “20/20 vision,” promising clarity, breakthrough, and unprecedented blessing. At the same time, Trump was negotiating massive food exports to China. And in the midst of all that noise, I sensed a very different nudge from the Lord—one that surprised me.
It was simple, but weighty:
“Warn the farmers. Seven years of plenty are coming, followed by seven years of famine.”
I didn’t fully understand it. I didn’t know what to do with it. And before I could figure out how to deliver a warning… the world shut down.
Pandemic. Panic. Loss. Division. Uncertainty.
Chaos—the “0” in 2020 suddenly made sense.
But even in the chaos, the Lord was weaving a pattern.
The Pattern Unfolds: The Sevenfold Spirit in Seven Years
As the years moved forward, I began to notice something happening in my inner life—something so consistent and so specific that I finally had to acknowledge it:
Each year aligned perfectly with one of the Sevenfold Spirits of God.
2021 — Knowledge
The Lord began revealing root issues, hidden fears, and long-buried truths I needed to face.2022 — Counsel
I learned to listen again—not just to the voice of God, but to wise people He placed around me.2023 — Wisdom
This was the year strategy came. Understanding the why beneath the what.2024 — The Spirit of the LORD
Identity, authority, calling. I found myself standing in who God says I am.2025 — Understanding
And this year… everything clicked.
The patterns. The cycles. The lies I had believed—not just about myself, but about my Maker.
The Lord allowed me to see the soul-level scripts that kept me stuck and the truth that was always meant to set me free.
Now, as we approach the close of the Gregorian year and prepare to step into 2026, my attention is shifting again.
Looking Ahead to 2026: The Spirit of Might
Because the Hebraic calendar starts at Rosh Hashanah, I always feel like I get a head start on what the Spirit is doing. And what I keep sensing about 2026 is this:
Might is coming. And we must be ready.
Might is a powerful force—the strength behind our actions.
But here’s the caution I keep feeling:
Might + an unsubmitted soul = danger.
Might + a surrendered spirit = destiny.
When our internal “power source” (our will, our drive, our push) is not submitted to the Spirit of God living within us, it can quickly morph into striving, control, or self-reliance.
But when our Might is aligned with His Spirit, we step into the promise of Zechariah 4:
“Not by power (the flesh), nor by might (the soul),
but by My Spirit, says the LORD.”
That is my prayer for all of us as we transition into a new year:
May our Might be surrendered.
May our souls be aligned.
And may the Spirit of God accomplish His purposes through a yielded people.
